Plans for 2016

Hello loves! I’m back with another post!

First things first, Happy New Year! I can’t believe we’ve arrived in 2016. It’s crazy to think about, as this is the year that I will be graduating college (and I’m not even close to ready for that so it’s only a tiny bit terrifying).

2015 was a rough year for me, so I’m really hoping to make 2016 the best year of my life. In order to do so, I have certain goals and plans that I’d like to start and maintain. Because it is the start of the new year, I decided that it could be a good idea to share them with you all.

Be more adventurous with my style and makeup

Due to self-confidence issues that I’ve had, I have been very afraid to try out certain articles of clothing or certain makeup products (like bronzer, blush, and lip colors of any kind). In 2016, I would like to be a bit more willing to try out these things that I was afraid of before. As someone that runs a fashion and beauty-related blog I would love to be a bit more adventurous with my style so that I can bring you guys better content, like makeup looks, lookbooks, and better outfit of the day posts.

Set up a blog post schedule

No one has to tell me: I don’t post content on this blog that often unless it’s a Polyvore outfit. I truly do love this blog and I would love to post more content on it for you guys. To do so, I plan to start using a blogging schedule so that I can regularly provide content on my blog. I’d like to post at least 3 times a week: a beauty/makeup related post on Mondays, a random-subject post on Wednesdays, and a fashion-related post on Saturdays.  I also want to bring you guys different types of posts that I haven’t done before. If you have any suggestions for things you guys would like to see, please let me know so I can do them!

Seek help for my anxiety

I don’t think I’ve ever talked about it on this blog, but I’m just gonna come out and say it: I’ve been struggling with anxiety and self-esteem problems since the 6th grade. It was always something that I tried to deal with by myself, but in 2015 it got to the point where I was having anxiety attacks on a regular basis, and my self-esteem and self-confidence fell to an all time low. This year, I want to be happy and not live with these emotions. My goal for the year is to attend a counseling session once a week to help with these issues. I’ve attempted to go in the past, but I was never able to fully commit to it. I want 2016 to be different, so I am going to try my hardest to go to counseling sessions as often as I can.

Take care of myself

I’m definitely not the healthiest person out there: I’m kind of a mess actually. This year, I want to take better care of myself. I want to treat my body and my mind the way it should be treated, so that I can feel better physically and mentally. This includes eating healthier, and trying to work out more than I have in the past (because I currently don’t work out at all and it just feels terrible). This also includes trying to get more sleep. I have a terrible sleeping pattern where I go to sleep insanely late and get up freakishly late (on weekends), or when I have to get up to go to classes in the morning I don’t have energy due to a lack of sleep. I’d like to try to fix my sleeping problems by going to bed earlier and waking up earlier.

Have more fun

I don’t just wanna live in my room where I’m on tumblr for hours. I’d like to get out more. I’d like to travel somewhere. I’d like to go have fun with friends. I’d like to talk to people. I’d like to stop letting my fears and worries get in the way of my happiness. Because this is my last semester of college, I want to make the most of it.
