Hello loves! I’m back with another post!
I apologize for this going up so late. This is my first week back at school and so far this semester is kicking my butt more than I thought it would. This was supposed to go up yesterday, but here it is today.
If you’re a college student like me, you probably have to deal with some of the smallest closets known to man, and you probably overpacked and brought too much stuff back to school (like me). For those of you who are in the same situation as me, I thought it might be a good idea for me to show you guys how I organize my small college closet so I can fit all of my stuff in it.
Here is an overview of my closet. I was lucky because the closets in this particular dorm building at my school have the two shelves built into it right above the main section.
In the first one, I keep my beanies on the left side, my towels in the middle, and my scarves on the right side. I keep some of my shoes that I’m not wearing at the moment on the top shelf so they are out of the way.
Here is a shot of the main section of my closet. I have it extremely full right now (blame the thick winter sweaters!) so it’s hard to see everything, but I will break down how I organize all my clothes here.
In the front I have all my crop tops, starting with my shortest/ones with the shortest sleeves and making my way back as the length and the length of the sleeves get longer. When I have reached that point, I go into all my tank tops, starting with the ones with the thinnest straps and going backwards until I reach my t-shirts. Those go back into my long-sleeve regular shirts and blouses. Next, I have my sweaters. Following that I have my long-sleeved collared shirts, like my flannels and denim button-ups. After that I have one suede jacket, my cardigans, and then my kimonos (which there are many of). After that I have my dresses and my bottoms that are nice enough to hang up.
To save space, I fold up all of my band shirts and place them in a stack at the bottom of the main section. I have far too many band shirts to be hanging them, so this was my solution.
I also keep a few pairs of shoes in my closet as well. These are some of my nicer pairs that I don’t want to get ruined because I wear them frequently.
Here are the two drawers below my closet. The top one I keep all of my pajama and workout shirts and bottoms, as well as my camis and the one slip that I have. In the bottom drawer, I keep all my bottoms (before anyone makes a comment about one pair of jeans being in there: I still have to do laundry).
That’s it for this post! Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions in the comments below, I’d love to hear them!
I’ll see you all on Saturday for a fashion-related post. Have a great day, loves!
